What is the host address?
This is the “Internet address” of your visitor. If we can’t determine the textual version, we list the numeric version. Some people find this useful to see that many of their visitors are AOL users, or Web TV users, or whatever it turns out to be. You can tell because the end of the “address” ends with “aol.com” or “webtv.net” or “att.net” (AT&T), etc. Some people find it interesting to see the various government branches visiting their site. This gives you a generality of where the visitor came from, but otherwise serves no real purpose to you.
