What is the Homeless Shelter Program?
Since 1990, CSDC has managed the local homeless shelter program in cooperation with a local governmental agency (Community Services and Workforce Development). The homeless shelter is located on Southside Road in the unincorporated area of San Benito County. This program serves 30 homeless families annually, consisting of approximately 56 adults and 80 children. CSDC acts as the property manager for the homeless shelter by maintaining the housing units and surrounding grounds. Community Services and Workforce Development ( CSWD ), which is a County agency, provides direct services to families at the homeless shelter that assist the parents to find employment or gain skills necessary to become employable, to locate and secure permanent housing, and referral for other needed health and human services from community based and governmental agencies. Families live in the Shelter for up to six months. What types of donations are needed? We are in need of bedroom and living room furniture, ca
