What is the history of Unity?
The Unity Virtual Aviation Community was formed in 2001 when Southeastern Virtual and Pacific Breeze Virtual amalgamated. Unity then flourished in the next two years and at one stage boasted over 1500 members. As time went by and as people left to pursue other opportunities and interests, Unity’s membership declined where over the last couple years activity has been low. Towards the end of 2008 a decision was made to relaunch Unity in a attempt to recapture the magic of years gone by. The site has been redeveloped and an initial management team has been brought together. The goal is simple – to create an organisation that has the right balance of realism and fun and where people feel like part of a community. The early signs are good and we are looking forward to Unity growing back to be a major player in the Flight Simulator world for many years to come!
