What is the history of NCJW?
Hannah G. Solomon called on women to shape the destinies of American lives at the Women’s Congress of the 1893 World’s Fair. The Los Angeles Section was established in 1909, sixteen years after the national organization was founded. We are at the forefront of social change, taking on issues such as child welfare, women’s rights and reproductive freedom. NCJW works through a program of research, education, advocacy and community service to improve the quality of life for women, children and families.
