The National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) initiated the project. The first partner to join in populating the site was the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). NLM also received links from the National Cancer Institute, AcademyHealth, the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research and the Health Services Research and Development Service (HSR&D) at the Veterans Administration.
