Please rest awhile on the wicker porch swing and then come on in to see my grandmother’s home. The house has seen lots of love, laughter, and happiness. Great-Grandmother and Great-Grandfather raised seven children in this home. This is how the house looked when Great-Grandmother first moved in. The house was built by Herman Briggs in 1903. Mr. Briggs was a gentlemen’s farmer who built the home for his new bride. This area of Attica was considered the suburbs and many farmers would build winter homes so their children could be educated in the Attica school system and then return home in the spring to work on their farms.
