I was in high school when the hippie movement began. I watched it evolve, just a bit too young to participate but old enough to know what was going on. In 1963 our Government (JFK) handed over the educational system of this country to the APA (Psychiatric industry). They had promised they would improve the schools in the US as long as they had enough tax money. They are still running the schools today. That is why you see so many psych problems and worse off education. Ours used to be the best in the world. They immediately started promoting drugging us kids and doing psych experiments in the schools, and changed all the books to things the kids could hardly understand. Constant changes to make things harder. Regular programs were removed and psych classes became mandatory in H.S. My psych class taught us about the reactions from drugs – not how people really are. Suddenly Timothy Leary was promoting drug use in colleges. Next thing we knew, kids and their parents were seeing psychiatr
