What is the Herbie Fund?
• please refer to our Herbie Fund page on our website. • We have treatment available in our home country, but we do not have the funding. Can SickKids help sponsor for our childs treatment? • Unfortunately, we do not have the funding to assist families with treatment back in their home country. The Herbie Fund is intended to carry out acute (one-time) treatment only, at SickKids hospital, such as Cardiac, Plastic and Neurosurgery. Children requiring long-term care for medical conditions such as cancer, transplants and any rehabilitation are not eligible to receive Herbie Fund assistance. • How long is the International application process? • The entire process, from submission of the application and medical information, to review from our medical team, and finalizing all documentation, will take approximately 6-8 weeks on average.
