What is the Hebrew School curriculum?
Many aspects of Judaism are covered in the curriculum. Sundays begin with prayers at 9:15 AM led by the students or a parent. The topics covered include not only learning to read Hebrew, but understanding the words. We translate Hebrew sentences into English and have basic conversations. Music and singing play a prominent role in the curriculum. Experiential exercises range from crafts to stories, to riotous improvisation. Other subjects taught are: learning about the holidays, liturgy, Jewish ethics, Jewish history, Israel, Rites of Passage, stories from The T’nach – the Torah and Prophets, Tzedakah, “Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World,)” and the Holocaust.
