The maximum output from a domestic solar hot water system (on a clear summer day) is approximately 70W per sqft aperture area. Our flat plate systems for 3 to 5 people have a gross collector area of 50 sqft but an aperture area of 44sqft. This system would have the same output as a 3kW immersion heater typically found in hot water tank.
