What is the head teachers role in the appointment process?

0

For staff other than head teachers and deputy heads, the selection procedures may be delegated to one of more governors or the head teacher alone or with one or more governors. The normal expectation is for the head teacher to lead in appointments outside the leadership group and therefore have the delegated responsibility for this. In all selection procedures (other than for the post of head teacher), the head will have both the professional expertise and the local knowledge that can inform the governing body’s eventual decision.
