What is the Head Start program and how does my child qualify?
Head Start is a federal program for preschool children from low-income families. Children who attend OWCAP Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental screenings, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting. To qualify for Head Start, you must meet the federal income guidelines, be receiving public assistance, or be one of the allowed 10% of children who exceed income guidelines.
