What is the hardest material in the world?
The hardest material known to man today is no longer diamond but a carbon known as aggregated diamond nimrods. It’s made by compressing carbon-60 molecules. The first, quartzite boron nitride has a similar structure to diamond, but is made up of different atoms and the second, the mineral lonsdaleite, or hexagonal diamond is made from carbon atoms just like diamond, but they are arranged in a different shape.
