What is the Halifax STAR Survey?
• The Halifax Space-Time Activity Research (STAR) Project is being conducted by the Time-Use Research Program at Saint Mary’s University on behalf of Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). • The Halifax STAR Project will collect household activity information about people’s households, their neighborhoods, and information about when and where people travel for work, school, recreation, shopping and other reasons. • The survey results will be used to plan the construction of roads, sidewalks, bike paths, changes to Metro Transit, and other projects that affect mobility, access to jobs, air quality, and quality of life in HRM.
