What is the H1-B Visa?
The H1-B visa is a work visa for “members of the profession.” To qualify for this 3-year visa, you must have special qualifications that are needed by American companies. It usually requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree (or its foreign equivalent). This visa can be extended, but it can also turn into “permanent residence” (Green Card) if your employer is willing to sponsor you. Therefore, it may be possible for you to become a permanent resident while you are working for the American company on an H1-B visa.
