What is the GWAR?
The GWAR stands for the Graduate Writing Assessment Requirement. All graduate students are expected to have demonstrated writing proficiency at the undergraduate level as prescribed by California State University System (CSU). All Graduate students must meet the GWAR. Graduate students are required to meet this requirement before Advancing to Candidacy. No exceptions will be made to this policy. Students in a graduate program who have not fulfilled this requirement will be required to demonstrate writing proficiency.
