What is the GTP route like?
This very much depends on the school. It is important to find out if the school has experience with GTP trainees. It is also important to find out if you are going to be employed as supernumerary. For example, some GTP trainees will be expected to take on a regular teaching commitment immediately. Supernumerary trainees will normally have a more gradual introduction to teaching, with more time for observation and team-teaching in the early stages. You will be responsible for your own class(es), marking, report writing etc. You will also have assignments to complete to support your professional training with your DRB.
