What is the GSA and why do I have to pay them?
The GSA is the Graduate Student’s Association. As a graduate student, you are automatically a member of this association and thus have to pay the fees as indicated here: http://www.ucalgary.ca/gsa/about/fees.html . These fees go towards the numerous benefits available for graduate students, notably Health and Dental Insurance, the UPASS, and Campus Recreation fees.
