What is the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute?
Founded in 2001, the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is an industry independent, third-party, not-for-profit organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification programs. The GEI mission is to protect human health and quality of life through programs that reduce chemical exposure and improve indoor air quality. As an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Authorized Standards Developer, GEI establishes acceptable indoor air standards for indoor products, environments and buildings.
