They use different technology to traditional light bulbs that enable them to produce a highly efficient and compact light using a fraction of the energy. As well as being good for the environment they are also good for your bank balance. Replacing all the remaining traditional inefficient light bulbs in your house could save you around £50 and 170kg CO2 a year, or £675 and 3 tonnes of CO2 over the lifetime of the bulbs.
