WHAT IS THE GREEN JOBS – GREEN NY (GJGNY) ACT OF 2009?
Green Jobs – Green NY is a statewide initiative to promote energy efficiency and energy conservation to reduce energy consumption and costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create green jobs. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is administering the program. NYSERDA is exploring innovative financing approaches to assist residential customers, small businesses, and not-for-profit organizations in affording the costs of energy efficiency improvements. Financing options may include unsecured loans, loans to be repaid through property tax assessments of participating municipalities, known as the Municipal Sustainable Loan Program or Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), and loans where the consumer repays the obligation through an on-bill utility charge, known as On-Bill Recovery.
