The most ever conceived was 15 babies, quindecaplets, conceived by an unidentified Italian couple. 15 fetuses were removed from the mother’s womb by Dr. Gennaro Montanino after 4 months of pregnancy on July 22, 1971. She had 10 girls and 5 boys, and fertility drugs were responsible for this case. The fetuses were five inches long and five ounces in weight. The woman and her husband already had an 8 year old daughter born after similar fertility drug treatments and had wished to have another child. The most babies ever concieved spontaneously was 12, duodecaplets. The mother was 24 years old when she miscarried 12 fetuses. The highest number of babies born that all survived were the McCaughey septuplets, 7, born to Kenny and Bobbi McCaughey on November 19, 1997 in Iowa. They used fertility drugs and concieved a single girl, Mikayla. Then, they used the same drug to have another baby, and conceived septuplets.
