What is the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerces relationship to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce?
The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are separate and distinct organizations. We are an independent, private, membership-driven association. The Executive Committee of our Chamber has ultimate oversight responsibility for the business operations, strategic objectives and all major policy decisions of the GPCC. With their direction, we focus on issues that affect the Greater Philadelphia Region. We are a dues paying member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Contrary to recent blog reports, we are not canceling our membership with the U.S. Chamber, as we recognize value in that membership, and the services that they offer. However, our positions are not dictated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In our 210-year history, we have dedicated the work of this chamber to attract, retain and grow jobs for our region.
