What is the grand-parented Short Term Disability Plan?
Some former municipalities such as East York, Etobicoke, Scarborough and York had Short Term Disability Plans. These were the sick plans in place prior to the amalgamation in 1998 where there employees received a fixed number of sick days for each calendar year. Employees have been grand-parented in these plans based on their former municipality and in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreements.
