The academic standard for students in the School of Nursing is a cumulative grade point average (CQPA) of 2.5 or above, with no grade in a required course below a “C” (2.0). Those courses include: CHEM 110, BIOCHEM 205, EXSC 200 and, EXCSC 205, MICRO 255, any Human Nutrition course, PSYCH 100, PSYCH 380, STATISTICS and all Nursing Coursework. Nursing courses may be repeated only once. If an unacceptable grade is received in a clinical course, the student is on probation from the School of Nursing. The student must petition in writing to the Academic Standards Committee to be allowed to repeat the clinical course. If the student is denied a repeat of the clinical course, the student is considered dismissed from the School of Nursing. If recommended by the Committee, repeating a clinical course is on a space-available basis.
