What is the glycemic load of AdvoCare® products?
The glycemic index is a measure of how quickly carbohydrates turn into sugar and enter the bloodstream. However, this does not take into account how much carbohydrate a given product contains. The glycemic load takes this into consideration. By definition, products with a low glycemic load have a value of = 10. Moderate glycemic load foods have a value between 11 and 19, while foods with a high glycemic load have a value of = 20. Glucose (dextrose) is used as the standard; 50 grams of glucose gives a glycemic load of 50. All AdvoCare products have glycemic loads that are either low or in the lower half of the medium range. Some of these values are presented in the table given below.
