The Global Experience Requirement (GER) is a graduation requirement ensuring that students broaden their understanding of the global context of management. Students must complete a significant international management experience prior to winter quarter of their second year. Also, the GER must be fulfilled in a country new to the student. The GER can be completed in one of the following ways: • Join a Global Study Trip led by students and a participating faculty member. • Participate in a Global Management Immersion Experience (GMIX). A GMIX is a 4-week program at the end of the summer between the first and second year of study; it follows a regular 10-week summer internship. • Participate in a Service Learning Trip organized by the Public Management Program. • Petition for a summer internship to count toward fulfilling the requirement.
