What is the Global Address List (GAL)?
The Global Address List is an email directory in SFU Connect containing all SFU Staff, Faculty and Students (except Students who have opted out). The email address displayed in your GAL entry is based on your preferences set in the SFU Directory (http://www.sfu.ca/sfuds), which can be found by clicking on ‘Edit My Entry’ after logging in. When you begin typing in a person’s name or email address (e.g., in the To, Cc or Bcc fields, or the Attendees field in an appointment), you will notice that the system pulls up a list of possible matches based on what you have typed. By default, SFU Connect will search in your Address Book, followed by the Global Address List.
