What is the Global Address List (GAL), and how do I download a copy of it?
The GAL is a a pre-populated Global Address List (GAL) of contacts at the University of Virginia, which includes all University faculty, staff, resources (such as conference rooms), and distribution lists for MyGroups. From time to time, it may be updated to include new information about others at the University, so you may want to download a new copy of the GAL into your Outlook occasionally. To do so: • Click the down arrow by Send/Receive. • Click Download Address Book. • Make certain Download changes since last Send/Receive is not checked. • Make certain Full Details is selected. • Click the OK button. • Allow your new copy of the GAL to download (may take as much as 5 to 10 minutes).
