Answer The GIS file we supply as part of the ERD data delivery contains Geographical information formed from analysis of the Caller Line Identity and is used to provide a key to the data in the individual ERD files. Data such as Postcode does not usually map directly onto an exchange area, but what is provided is a best-fit picture. The Local Exchange area name is the most specific area available down to the TV area, which is the least specific.
