What is the Georgia Law on Child Abandonment?
Child abandonment is the act of surrendering your child with no intent of ever getting that child back, or leaving that child with his whereabouts unknown. Until the child reaches the age of 17, he remains under control of his parents. If a parent abandons a child in Georgia, it is considered a serious offense with serious consequences.
