What is the geography of the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania like?
The centre of the reserve is a flat rolling landscape with alluvial valleys and protruding inselbergs, Karroo sandstone and granite outcrops. It is covered by thickets and closed woodlands. The South is hilly, rugged and forested. The southwest and west is mountainous and forested with intervening wet lowlands. The east and north are treed grassland. The reserve is only accessible by air and the Tazara railway. There are about 400 species of animals in the reserve. http://www.unep-wcmc.org/sites/wh/pdf/Se… http://www.game-reserve.
