What is the genus, species, etc (proper science classification) for killer bees?
A. The Africanized honeybee is a hybrid of a strain of honeybees from Africa, Aphis mellifera scutellata, and basically any other honeybee that it can mate with and produce viable off-spring. Q. I have a small ranch in McMullen County with an old mobile home. This past weekend while mowing near the trailer I was attacked by some extremely aggressive bees. I assume they are likely Africanized honey bees. Later I found a hole in the bottom of the trailer where they were entering and blocked it, trapping the bees.ole. Sunday morning the bees appeared to be trapped. The next morning I sprayed fogger into the hole, which only agitated the bees.
