What is the General Firefighter Knowledge Written Examination?
Applicants with preferred qualifications who pass the Written Aptitude Test will be required to participate in a General Firefighter Knowledge Written Examination process based on information from the following reference textbooks: “Firefighter’s Handbook,” Delmar, 2nd Edition; “Essentials of Fire Fighting,” IFSTA, 4th or 5th Edition; “Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills,” Jones and Bartlett, 2nd Edition.
