What is the general attitude to trade unions and trade unionists in the US?
Ronald Reagan started the PR campaign against unions and it has continued to present day. Unions are absolutely essential to impose fair employment practice in a capitalistic society. They balance a naturally unbalanced situation. Unions have become the whipping boy of greedy misguided and stupid management that has destroyed many good American businesses. HOWEVER, unions are also susceptible to corruption and greed. Balance is the key and you will never achieve it if you destroy the unions.
