What is the Gaylord resort at Chula Vista?
A. The proposed Gaylord resort on the Chula Vista Bayfront would be a $1 billion waterfront hotel and convention destination that would serve local residents, boost the local economy, and jump start the long-awaited redevelopment of the Chula Vista waterfront in San Diego County. The project is anticipated to have 2,000 guest rooms and suites at full build-out. In addition to hotel rooms and meeting space, the proposed Gaylord resort in Chula Vista would feature multiple restaurants, an entertainment nightclub, a full-service spa and fitness facility, numerous retail shops and resort swimming pools. The state-of-the-art convention center will include approximately 400,000 square feet of meeting and convention space in the form of large ballrooms, flexible breakout space and exhibition space. No single meeting space will have more than 200,000 square feet to avoid competition with the San Diego Convention Center.
