What is the Future of the Personal PC?

I will draw a distinction between 2 kinds of usage here: In the very near future, we would see a device blurring distinction between these 2 devices – Home PC and Home Phone. It will have a base station, more like a LCD display with touchscreen, integrated camera, wireless IO (keyboard, mouse), and handset, hung on a wall. The second piece would be a pluggable cell phone device that will provide connectivity and user-specific data to the wall mount unit, along with streaming Video and TV channels. Such a device will be at every house that needs phone and/or PC. The mobile will of course be usable as stand-alone mobile phone. PC and Mobile for personal/Professional use will also be a portable version of the above. It will be like a laptop with mobile plug-in socket. All that you need can be done through this combination or individually. Desktop will (and should) vanish in its current appearance.
