What is the future of Blue Ray Gaming?
Currently, only the PlayStation 3 offers Blue-ray games. However, the future of Blue-ray is wide open. Technology experts predict that future gaming systems will all offer Blue-ray players. Not only will the public, now used to HDTV, increasingly demand Blue-ray content, but it is also likely that future games will require the extra storage that Blue Ray provides. In fact, it is likely that next-generation video games will no longer be able to fit on traditional CDs and DVDs, making Blue-ray technology imperative and CDs and DVDs obsolete, just as cassette tapes and floppy disks eventually became obsolete. The first system other than the PS3 to make the shift to Blue-ray games may very well be the PC gaming platform, because inexpensive Blue-ray players are already available for the PC.
