What is the FUSF (Speakeasys Federal Regulatory Fee)?
Definitively, and without exception: Speakeasy is regulated by the FCC for the simple fact that we traffic data across state lines (for example, customers located in Oregon that are routed via our Seattle POP). That type of business is regulated by the FCC and, therefore, Speakeasy is regulated by the FCC we don t need to be classified as an ILEC or CLEC for this to be the case. As we have communicated before, Speakeasy became the primary taxing agent for the FUSF in August of 2002 and we have been remitting the fee to the FCC since that time.
