What is the furthest we will have to walk in any one day?
We will be carrying heavy packs over some demanding terrain so it is unlikely that you will do more than 15 to 20 miles in any one day. 10 miles per day would be a more normal distance. During the science phase you may remain in one place for some days. But to cope with this terrain, you need to get your fitness up and your ankles need to be used to long distances on rough ground. The biggest problems early on during an expedition will come from feet…..get yours in shape before you arrive.
