This is a Quick Response or QR code. When you get to hospital, some Emergency Rooms use a scanner to read this code and access the information on your Alertag. At the moment this technology is cutting edge and not widespread, a few years from now it will be widespread. You can also use a mobile phone to read this code too. First you need to get your phone enabled by visiting http://reader.kaywa.com. When your phone is enabled all you have to do is take a photo of the tag’s QR and it will instantly call up the Alertag information from the Internet and display it on your phone.
