What is the function of the Hardwire Safety Interlock?

The HSI unit serves in a dual capacity. Its first role is to provide an extra measure of safety. Safety features incorporated into other FCTS equipment such as manual and software emergency stops*, ambient gas detectors and SafeState Remote** are continually monitored. If a problem is detected by the hardware or the user, power to all units connected to the HSI is removed. All units will remain powered down until the main power switch of the HSI is toggled by the user. The second role of the Hardwire Safety Interlock is convenience. The HSI provides a single power feed for up to seven FCTS and other components. Simply plug the HSI into an appropriate power receptacle or hardwire the unit into a power terminal and connect the desired units to the HSI. *Software emergency stop shutdown of HSI only available when used in conjunction with an FCTS Input/Output unit. **SafeState Remote is optional.
