Each bead in the upper deck has a value of 5 and each one in the lower deck has a value of 1. Beads are counted by moving individual beads towards the divider that separates the two decks. The far right column is the Ones column, the next adjacent column to the left is the Tens column, then Hundreds, Thousands, Ten Thousands and so on.
