WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF PHOSPHORIC ACID IN DRINKS?
Soft drink manufacturers use phosphoric acid in some of their products to provide a pleasant tartness. There is no evidence to indicate that acid in these beverages contributes to dental erosion in the course of normal beverage consumption. Nor does it make a significant contribution to the total daily intake of phosphorus. In combination with a nutritionally adequate, balanced diet and regular exercise, soft drinks provide a refreshing and positive contribution to everyday living.
