What is the function of lime scale in water?

0

Limescale is present in water making it hard; and is also identified as Calcium Carbonate Precipitate. It is also used as an inexpensive dietary calcium supplement. It normally passes through digestive system. Limescale gets broken down by acidic action of enzymes present in out digestive tract. Although, the biggest source of kidney stone formation is known to be the impurities in water only! (Well, at least Limescale is not on the list). Stones occur when solid impurities are unable to pass through the kidneys resulting in they getting sedimented there itself. Limescale does not come under those type of substances which human body cannot break down.
