The Championship live spelling contests provide the chance for pupils to display their talents and mastery of spelling. All teams will be asked for spoken spellings which will progress with increasing difficulty. There are no written rounds. The winning team from the local knockout heats will secure a place at the Semi-Finals and the climax will be the high-profile Grand Final which will be held in London in June 2009.
