What is the format for the NBA playoffs?
(Playoffs) The Magic are in the Eastern Conference. Sixteen teams will qualify for the Playoffs. Eight teams from each conference will participate, including two division champions and the six other teams in each conference with the best winning percentages. In order to have home court advantage, a team must be one of the four teams in the conference with the highest winning percentage. The format is as follows: Round 1 Winner of best-of-five advances to next round. Team with home court could play three of five games at home. Round 2 Conference semi-final. Winner of best-of-seven advances to next round. Team with home court advantage could play four of seven at home. Round 3 Conference final. Winner of best-of-seven advances to NBA Finals.
