What is the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge?
The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge is a professional racing series using identically-prepared (or “spec”) Ford Mustang FR500Ss. The FR500S was born from the Mustang Challenge car created by the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School at Miller Motorsports Park. Sanctioned by Grand-Am, the series will run 10 races in 2009, at Homestead-Miami Speedway (double-header event, March 14-15), Barber Motorsports Park (double-header event, April 18-19), New Jersey Motorsports Park (May 3), Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (May 16), Mosport International Raceway (June 14), Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (June 21), Autobahn Country Club (June 26) and Miller Motorsports Park (Sept. 20).
