The footprint is smaller for less complex waste streams such as relatively “clean” food waste. The machinery for the front- and back-ends is simpler, requiring a building of perhaps 6,000 square feet. The central, outdoors component, depending on the number of IBR tanks required, might require another 2,000 square feet.
