What is the FOCCUS questionnaire and how do I use it?
We recommend that engaged couples taking The Marriage Preparation Course complete a questionnaire called FOCCUS prior to the start of the course. FOCCUS stands for “Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study.” Couples separately answer “Agree”, “Disagree”, or “Uncertain” to 156 questions about their relationship and expectations of marriage. The questionnaire raises important issues that the couple has not usually considered. The couples absorb more of the teaching and gain more from their conversations with their fiancé(e) if they complete the questionnaire prior to beginning the course.
